La storia pi\u00f9 lunga qui la racconta lei, la mensola, elemento che sin dai tempi del Giambellino separa e mette in comunicazione il mondo dell\u2019immagine da quello di chi guarda. Un congegno ottico che per funzionare ha bisogno di un ponte, di un ente trasversale orientato verso lo spettatore; Horst sceglie il nastro che chiude il corsetto Mainbocher lasciandolo cadere, con un colpo di genio che sa di barocco, in modo tale da nascondere alla vista lo zoccolo sinistro del ripiano. Si crea cos\u00ec &#8211; anche in virt\u00f9 della lunghezza della parte sospesa del laccio &#8211; un effetto di instabilit\u00e0 che d\u00e0 peso alla seta e corpo all&#8217;ombra, non a caso proiettata da destra ad insistere anch&#8217;essa sulla parte pi\u00f9 precaria della mensola.
